This weekend marks the start of family holiday festivities, so it’s time to bring out the lipstick and add some glitter on my nails! This time of year is flooded with reds and evergreens and anything that sparkles — and although I love a good red manicure, it’s also fun to try something different than the expected. This holiday season, I’m trading in my go-to red for pink-tones. I’ve been loving the look of effortless pink, a hint of gold, and second (or third?) day hair.
Starting with my nails, I used an Essie classic “Ballet Slippers” for a ballet pink base color and then added Essie’s “Summit of Style” for gold glitter. My unsung hero of an at-home manicure is the Tenoverten Nail Care System. The base coat helps any color go on extra smooth, and I don’t think I could do my nails without the top coat. It dries quickly, makes my nails shine, and prevents chips for longer than any other top coat I’ve used!
For lips, I’ve got a range of pinks packed to go home with me for the holidays. From my favorite light pink (MAC’s Crème Cup) to a matte hot pink (NARS Schiap), and a few in between. For lipstick prep, I’ve started using the Fabulips Treatment Kit from Bliss. I especially love the sugar lip scrub since it leaves the lips super smooth and lipstick-ready. (Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win a holiday skincare kit from Bliss! The giveaway closes Tuesday, December 22nd at midnight!)
What’s your go-to holiday look?
