Remember when Instagram announced a new algorithm newsfeed and the world almost ended? Or when they dropped a new logo Beyoncé style and the world accused them of plagiarizing a PowerPoint gradient? But no matter what app update comes next, I think we can all agree that Instagram is here to stay. If you’re looking to spice up your newsfeed (as in who you follow, not as in changing to that algorithm), then I’ve got a few suggestions that’ll tickle your fancy. Mostly of the fashion variety (excuse me, FaShUn), with a chance of a few hidden Insta-gems.
It’s Meryl Streep photoshopped on various foods. Come on, this is a no brainer. I just wish I had thought of the idea first.
Fashion illustrator and current Fashion Director at The Sartorialist (also the girlfriend of the sartorialist, Scott Schuman), Jenny knows a thing or two about vintage shopping and starring in street style photographs every Fashion Week. Serious question: was she Audrey Hepburn in her past life?
If you’re into illustrations, Julie Houts is required reading (I mean, following). Her satire is always on point, so much so that I have to wonder if the above post was based on real events from my life?
Writer/stylist/digital consultant Felicity Sargent is my latest go-to for outfit inspiration. Whether it’s her various forms of baggy jeans or vast collection of footwear or her adorable pooch, I’ll be taking cues from this Vogue and Refinery29 contributor YES PLEASE.
Founder of Man Repeller and general humorist, Leandra keeps it real on her personal Insta (as opposed to unreal social media? IDK. Let’s save that for another time and place) with #OOTD’s, partaaay pics, Fiber One, and her snacks and shoes of choice. If anyone is keeping fashion (read: fAsHuN) fun, it’s Leandra.
If you still need more Instagram accounts to follow, you can always join me in my randomness at @madisonmonteze. I don’t follow for follow, but I won’t get offended when you unfollow me. Or you can tell me what to Insta next??? ALWAYS seeking suggestions for life, am I right?
P.S. I sincerely apologize for my accidental partial week hiatus. If I’m being honest, I felt rather uninspired. I try very hard for this blog thing to be an escape outlet and not a chore, so I didn’t force it. The real question is: DID YA MISS ME?
