HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Too enthusiastic?
This year is our year, friends. I can feel it. (but if 12 months from now, it turns out it was in fact not our year I am not to be held responsible). I think we can all agree that 2016 went on five-ever, right? New year, new goals, new “me’s.”
The only thing I love about January is hitting refresh on my goals for the coming year. It’s too cold of a month for me to enjoy otherwise. But I love goal setting, especially when it comes to setting big goals. As I start my last year of college (as in graduation *soon come* this December), I’m preparing to savor all the “lasts” before true adulthood hits me like a splash of cold water and continue to work harder and harder to make those goals/dreams become reality.
Another side effect of a new January is I tend to reflect on the past year, which can occasionally cause some serious nostalgia. Self-reflection = self-growth, RIGHT? According to Kylie Jenner, this was the year of “like, realizing stuff.” And, you know, maybe she wasn’t so far off? Looking back, 2016 gave me a few kicks in the butt that I needed; but it also gave me an abundance of experiences I’ll forever be grateful for.
A very exciting (and very recent) blessing from 2016 is the opportunity to be a rep for Glossier. When I announced this on Instagram last week, a friend commented “About time am I right??” — which feels accurate. I’m probably Glossier super-fan status by now between my Instagram, blog posts (one, two, three, to give you a few), and the frequency at which I wear this sweatshirt. Beyond the trendiness factor, I admire Glossier’s tech savvy, community, and of course their perspective on beauty. In my mind, I’ve been repping them ever since the launch of Phase 1 in the fall of 2014, but I’ll graciously accept the official title.
If you’ve got a Glossier question, I’m your girl. hmu.
May your skin glow and all your jeans be flattering in 2017. Meanwhile, here’s a “feelin good 2017” playlist for your ears. Peace and blessings.
